June Event Recap: Speaker Tiffany Yelverton Shares About Self Love

There was electricity in the air as we gathered for WIN’s June event, an almost giddy anticipation for the topic of the evening: Loving yourself in a busy world.

Our presenter, well-known sex coach and Chief Sexinista of Entice Me Soirees, Tiffany Yelverton, kicked off the night with an exercise in connecting. All of the ladies present split into pairs, and had to spend a minute making eye contact and telling their partner what they saw and paying them compliments. At the end of the minute, each pair switched roles and repeated the exercise. Once everyone was done we shared as a group what came up and how it felt. It was truly a beautiful way to open the topic of self love.

Tiffany shared her thoughts about the disparity of expectations between sexual partners, pointing out how women are conditioned to believe that an encounter isn’t over until the man has been satisfied, and it wasn’t until she was a little older that she questioned this seemingly “natural” expectation and started to take herself into account. Tiffany encouraged everyone to think about what WE wanted and not settle for the default programming. She frequently works with clients to consider their own expectations and what they hope to get from intimate relationships and not settle.

The biggest takeaway from the night, for me at least, was the idea of slowing down and taking time for small pleasures. Noticing a cool breeze on your skin, the color of the sky, taking your time to put on lotion, or feel how warm shower streams hit your skin. Slow down and pay attention and you’ll increase your happiness. Making small adjustments can make a big difference.

“We touch,” Tiffany said, “but we forget to feel.”

After Tiffany’s presentation, we broke up into two small groups for more intimate discussions. Afterwards, Tiffany shared some statistics around self pleasure, about how it can lower your stress level and lead to an increase in all around happiness and satisfaction.

At the end of the night, the groups came back together and shared what had resonated with group members. The discussion continued on with even more talk about what women aren’t told about menopause (stay tuned for an event around that topic). Then it was time to wrap up and head out.

Overall it was a lovely evening filled with the kind of sharing and connection that happens when women show up and share authentically and vulnerably. Hope to see you next time!
